CHARM SCHOOL

Charm School is a four-week training program that provides your puppy with a great jump start to becoming that perfect dog you hope to have in the future. We keep the puppies here at Log Cabin Labradoodles and work one on one with them in hopes we can give them a great start to the rest of their training when they go home to your family. We work with you, as well. While your puppy is in Charm School, we ask that you give us any routines and command words that will aid in us teaching your puppy so the transition from Charm School to their forever home will be that much easier for you and your puppy.

Here is a list of subjects your puppy will learn while he/she is in school:

POTTY TRAINING:

We will take your Australian labradoodle puppy to its potty spot (grass, gravel, concrete, bushes, wherever you tell us it will be at your home) and give the command "go potty." If you would like us to use a different command, we are open to that as well. Once your puppy goes potty, we then give him/her a ton of love, so much love that the puppy gets excited! Although your puppy will NOT come to you fully potty trained, he/she will have a great start to it.

SLEEP IN A CRATE ALL NIGHT:

We will take on the sleepless nights as we teach your Australian labradoodle puppy that it is ok to sleep all night in a crate by his/herself. It is like teaching a baby to sleep in a crib. Puppy starts beside my bed to comfort him/her because I will not take him/her out of the crate. They will know that is where they are supposed to be until the family wakes up.

WALK ON A LEASH:

If your Australian labradoodle is ready before he/she leaves charm school, we will put your puppy on a leash and teach him/her to walk without pulling or resisting. I hope to also have your puppy walk beside me without a leash.

BASIC COMMANDS:

Through our training program, we will teach your puppy to SIT, STAY, COME, DOWN, AND OFF. We will start with treats and verbal commands and then go into no treats and verbal commands, and finally, no treats, no verbal command, sign language.

SOCIALIZATION:

Your Australian labradoodle will come to you after four weeks and be socialized to the max. We have young children along with teenage children involved in sports, clubs, and organizations that will love your puppy. Your puppy will attend all sports events, club performances, and any other engagements my children might have. This will get your puppy use to kids of all ages. This will also introduce your puppy to children that are special needs and children that are mainstream.

Your puppy will not just attend events for my children, but they will also go to the supermarket, bank, hardware store, pet store, hairdresser, dentist while our teeth are being cleaned, and that is to name a few.

We also will take your Australian labradoodle to the vet for his/her second physical and shots. The groomer will also do a meet and greet with your puppy. The puppy will go on the grooming table and be exposed to the clippers and scissors.

In Charm School, we are very dedicated to your Australian labradoodle puppy. While your puppy will not be fully potty trained or perfect at everything, he/she will have a great start to it all. In life, nothing is ever 100%, but in our Charm School, we try to get as close to perfect as we can.
